According to this Time magazine article, measle is on the rise again in many parts of the world for different reasons. Most of the deaths that occurred from measles in 2018 (about 40,000) were in Europe. Some of the causes for the rise in measles include war in Ukraine, and relaxation of legislation in Italy that required vaccination of pre-K students. The U.S. deaths from measles are the lowest at about 107 in 21 States in 2018. Still that represents a rise in the U.S. from previous years.
